Pieter Mostert

Ceramic Artist

Current Work

At the moment I'm working on a series of large, earthenware, sculptural forms, made from a combination of coiling and pinching. These are smoothed with a credit card when leather hard, and covered with terra sigillata after the bisque firing.

I'm also working with marbled clay, using a process of twisting and slicing to create vessels with simple forms and complex surfaces.

I've started writing up some of my glaze research, which can be found here.
